We have been making and supplying tagging or recovery poles for about 15 years, and the amazing thing is people find out we’re in that business, as we have historically done no marketing at all!
The poles come in two sizes, 1m and 2m, and are designed to fit together without tools using 316 Stainless snap pins, to avoid any potential corrosion for the many marine applications.
The overlap with the poles, which snap together, is designed to maintain the stiffness as the poles are frequently assembled into sections, some of which can be 8m long.
They are typically used in the marine environment for tagging buoys, as well as in freediving assemblies, and even at a nuclear waste facility to allow remote manipulation of hazardous material.
The poles are made from carbon fiber pre-preg using a toughened epoxy elevated cure system, to optimize the weight and stiffness as well as crush strength.
As always, we use domestically sourced (US) materials, and the poles are made in the USA.
The video will show me assembling then deploying, in a 6-meter-long assembly, as well as disassembling the poles.
The video was filmed at the back of our factory in Washougal, WA, showing Mt. Hood in the background.
No models were harmed in the making of this video.
